Our Story

Built for childhood. Not named for it.

A shoe a child wants to wear and a parent can trust — built from the ground up for a child's foot, not scaled down from an adult's.

The Manifesto

A children's shoe is never really one decision. It's two. The child picks what they're proud to wear. The parent decides what they can trust. Most brands only ever win one of those. Dasher was built to win both — sharp enough that a kid picks it themselves, engineered so a parent never thinks twice.

Not a tagline. The only brief we work to.

A letter from our founder

It started with a problem nobody had solved.

My husband and I were looking for shoes for our daughter. Not asking for much — something she'd want to wear, that would actually hold up to a real childhood, from a brand we could trust.

A child in a bright jacket running down a tree-lined path
Two kids running down an open road on a summer day
Two children racing along a wall, caught mid-stride
Children in colourful capes running together down a path
A boy laughing as he runs through a garden sprinkler in golden light
A girl in a pink dress running across a green field
Kids playing with a ball in a sunlit, tree-lined field

We checked every showroom, every sale rack, every marketplace in India. We found two kinds of shoes. Adult shoes, made smaller — the same last, the same construction, just shrunk down and sold in brighter colours, as if a child's foot were simply a miniature version of an adult's. Or knockoffs that looked fine on day one and fell apart by week three, the sole peeling back before the second birthday party.

Neither one was built with our daughter in mind. Neither one was built with any child in mind. There wasn't a third option. So we built one.

It took longer than we expected, and cost more lessons than we budgeted for — figuring out which materials actually survive a playground versus which ones just photograph well, how a growing foot is shaped differently at every stage, why “kids' sizing” so often means an adult shoe with a smaller number stamped on the box. But every one of those lessons is in the shoe your child is holding now.

Dasher is that shoe — the one we couldn't find for our own daughter, built now for every child whose parents have stood in that same aisle, wanting the same thing.

Design Philosophy

Will it survive an actual childhood?

Every material choice starts with that one question. Not a showroom. Not a photograph. A real one.

01

Aero Strut™

Cushioning that outlasts the store test.

Most cushioning is chosen for how it feels in a five-second store test — soft underfoot, impressive on day one, flat by week three. We chose a PU insole instead, because it holds its bounce through months of actual wear, not just the first walk around the store.

Breezy-Toes

Reinforced exactly where childhood happens.

Kids drag their feet, scrape their toes, and never sit still — so the mesh isn't just breathable, it's reinforced exactly where that wear happens, the way real sportswear is built, not the way most children's shoes are.

Natural Flex

Shaped from a child's foot outward.

A child's foot isn't a small adult foot — it's rounder, softer, still forming. So the fit is shaped outward from a child's foot, not scaled down from an adult's: roomy where a growing foot needs room, supported where it matters, with space to grow into instead of out of.

What We Stand For

Three non-negotiables.

The rules we build by — the ones we'd rather lose a sale than bend.

Every material earns its place.

Nothing goes into a Dasher shoe because it's cheaper or looks better in a photo — only because it holds up.

Every claim survives real use.

If we say it, a real child in a real playground has already tested it.

Every child gets to choose.

Design comes first, because a shoe nobody wants to wear never gets the chance to be well-built.
